The Association of Southeast and East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASEACCU) is a regional association of Catholic Universities in countries within this geographical area. The purpose of the organization is to promote Catholic higher education and to be a support for the local Churches. ASEACCU also aims to contribute to educational dialog on an international level beyond the Southeast and East Asian region.
Saint Louis University (SLU), located in Baguio City, Philippines, has been a pioneering institution in the Philippines in terms of Catholic Education, Internationalization, Sustainability, and Social Responsibility. SLU recognizes that global challenges such as poverty, climate change, and inequality, to name a few, can only be addressed through international cooperation and collaboration.
To this end, SLU has been actively engaged in internationalization efforts, such as student and faculty exchange programs, international research collaborations, and the establishment of international partnerships with universities across the globe. The university’s internationalization efforts are aimed at providing its students with a global perspective, enabling them to become responsible global citizens who are equipped to tackle the challenges of the 21st century.
In line with the principles of Laudato Si, SLU is also committed to promoting sustainability and social responsibility through various initiatives such as waste management programs, tree planting activities, the use of renewable energy, and community outreach programs. The university is committed to creating a sustainable future for its students and the wider community, guided by the principles of Catholic social teachings and the UN SDGs.
