Rev. Prof. Stephen Morgan

University of Saint Joseph, Macao

Biography

Stephen Morgan has been Rector of the University of Saint Joseph since 2020, where he is an Associate Professor of Theology and Ecclesiastical History.

After a career in the financial world in the City of London, Hong Kong and the Philippines, he spent fifteen years as the CFO/COO of a large educational and faith-based not-for-profit organisation in the UK. Returning to academic work in 2009, he read for a DPhil in Theology at the University of Oxford, where he was a Research Associate between 2013 and 2015. He has been a member of the academic staff of the Maryvale Institute of Higher Religious Sciences since 2011.

In 2022, he was elected Vice President of the International Federation of Catholic Universities. That same month, he was also elected President of the Executive Secretariat of the Association of South East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities.

Dr. Lucia Lin

Biography

Dr. Lucia Lin earned her Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Florida State University and has extensive experience in educational administration, including roles as Political Deputy Minister of Education and President of Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages. In August 2022, she was inaugurated as the President of Providence Universityin Taichung, Taiwan. Throughout her leadership, President Lin upholds the values of kindness and justice exemplified by the founders of the Sisters of Providence from the USA and embodies the spirit of “love and service in all things.” She firmly believes that through education and community service, the university can achieve the principle of “the more local, the more international; the more remote, the more technological.” She is determined to continue strengthening the foundation of Providence University, connecting with the world, and building a happy campus through servant leadership.

Dr. Greg Ching

Dr. Gregory S. Ching is a Professor at the Graduate Institute of Educational Administration and Policy, National Chengchi University, Taiwan. His diverse research spans educational leadership, digital pedagogy, religiosity and well-being, public health education, and AI in education. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and is actively involved in international collaborations across Asia. His recent works explore topics such as health literacy, emotions toward God, teacher well-being, and equitable technology integration in education.

Fr. Emery Ebumea Mwako

Saint Louis University, Philippines

Rev. Fr. Emery Mwako Ebumea was ordained to the priesthood on June 20, 2017 under the Congregatio Immaculati Cordis Mariae, which translates to the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in english. A native of Boso-Modanda of the Democratic Republic of Congo, he completed his studies in Philosophy and Theology at the Universite Saint Augustin & Ecole Theologique St. Cyprien, and later pursued further studies in Business Management at Asian Institute of Management or better known as AIM.

Throughout his ministry, Fr. Emery has served in various capacities, including assignments as Parochial Vicar, Parish Priest, CICM Vice District Coordinator, Episcopal Vicar, Chairman of Mission Apostolate, Chaplain, CICM District Coordinator, CICM Provincial Councilor and currently as a Vice President for Mission and Identity in a school setting. Fr. Emery is committed to forming vibrant faith communities rooted in compassion, service, and the mission of the Church. His pastoral leadership continues to inspire collaboration among the clergy, laity, and community partners. He is often identified as KUYA (elder brother) and Mentor of many youths.

Fr. Seil Oh, SJ

Biography

Dr. Seil Oh S.J. is a Professor of Sociology at Sogang University and the Vice-President for International Affairs. He is presently a member of the Society of Jesus in Korea and was ordained to the Priesthood in 2004. His areas of research include religion, spirituality, culture, social change, social movement happiness, the quality of life and youth theology etc.

Dr. Oh graduated with a B.A. and M.A. in Sociology from Sogang University, a M.A. in Theology and Society from the Jesuit School of Theology at the University of Santa Clara and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Boston College.

Fr. Francis X. Yang

Biography

Fr. Francis X. Yang, An-Jen has served in the ministry for 25 years. He earned his Doctor of Education degree from De La Salle University, Manila. A former parish priest, Dean, and Episcopal Vicar of the Diocese of Hsinchu, he has dedicated his life to pastoral care and social outreach. He founded four orphanages and two Aboriginal Healthcare centers, reflecting his commitment to the marginalized. Currently, he serves as the Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministry at Providence University, where he is also the Principal Investigator responsible for implementing the University Social Responsibility project. His research interests include educational psychology, religion, spirituality, social welfare, and etc.

Fr. Mike Cheung

Fr. Michael Cheung, I.V.E., is a former architect who embraced religious life in 2009 with the Institute of the Incarnate Word. He underwent eight years of intensive formation in philosophy and theology in Washington, D.C. Ordained in 2017, he served in parishes across Taiwan before moving to Macau. There, he became Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and Chaplain at the University of St. Joseph. He is dedicated to catechesis, pastoral care, and youth formation. His ministry integrates faith, education, and service in culturally diverse communities.

Dr. Zlatko Skrbis

Australian Catholic University, Australia

Biography

Professor Zlatko Skrbis is Vice-Chancellor and President of the Australian Catholic University and President of the Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities. A sociologist by training, he holds a PhD from Flinders University and studied philosophy and culture in Slovenia. He has held senior academic positions at Monash University and the University of Queensland. His research on cosmopolitanism and nationalism has led to several books and numerous scholarly publications. Recognized globally, he received the Justus Liebig Medal and serves on key national and international education boards. He is also an ambassador for equity and Catholic global education initiatives.

Prof. Yorizumi Watanabe

Yorizumi Watanabe is President of Fuji Women’s University and Professor Emeritus at Keio University. A veteran in international trade policy, he has served in roles at the GATT Secretariat, Japan’s Foreign Ministry, and as chief negotiator for multiple economic partnerships. He held academic leadership at Keio and Kansai University, and taught international political economy. His global expertise includes extensive advisory work with JICA, JETRO, and multilateral forums. He is a widely published author on WTO, EPAs, and Japan’s trade strategies. Recognized for his contributions, he has received prestigious national awards and honorary roles.

Dr. Hwei-Lin Chuang

Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, Taiwan

Dr. Hwei-Lin Chuang is President of Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages and a noted economist specializing in labor and applied micro-econometrics. She earned her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and previously served as Professor at National Tsing Hua University. Her academic leadership includes roles as Economics Department Chair, Library Director, and Dean of Technology Management. She has published in top-tier journals and advised Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Education, and Taipei City Government. A recipient of national research and service awards, she promotes innovation and interdisciplinary excellence. Her career bridges scholarship, policy, and higher education leadership.

Dr. Phon Sophal

Dr. Phon Sophal is the Director and Rector of Saint Paul Institute in Cambodia, with a Ph.D. in Teaching and Technology from Assumption University. His expertise bridges education leadership, policy analysis, social development, and culturally responsive pedagogy. He has led regional youth programs and Catholic educational initiatives across Cambodia and Asia. His teaching covers diverse fields including curriculum design, leadership, and inclusive education. He is deeply involved in community engagement and the integration of technology into learning. His mission centers on promoting holistic and socially grounded education for Cambodian youth.

Dr. Francis Yi-Chen Lan

Prof. Francis Yi-Chen Lan is the eighth President of Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan. After obtaining the PhD from Western Sydney University in 2004, he started a brilliant career as a professor and administrator at the same university. Important positions he held include, Professor of Information Management, Associate Dean of the School of Business, Pro Vice Chancellor, Global Development, and Provost of the Vietnam Campus of Western Sydney University in Australia. In 2019, Prof. Lan received a special achievement award for exceptional contributions to global higher education institute partnerships development Furthermore, and a special achievement award for contributions to Australia-Taiwan Education Partnerships from the Australian Government.

Prof. Nobuyuki Kanzawa

Nobuyuki Kanzawa is the Vice President for Community Engagement and Professor of Science Technology at Sophia University. As a former Head of the Department of Materials and Life Sciences and former Chairperson of the Student Life Committee in the Japan Association of Private Universities and Colleges, he has made significant and ongoing contributions to Sophia University’s research development and the support of students and researchers. He graduated from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Chiba University, and received his MS and PhD from the University’s Graduate School of Science and Technology. He has held positions as a research associate and associate professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology at Sophia University, with his current role since 2014. His research areas include plant molecular biology and physiology, and functional biochemistry.

Prof. Makoto Ikeda

Dr. Makoto Ikeda is Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of English Philology at Sophia University. A specialist in English language education and CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), he earned his PhD from Sophia and trained at King’s College London. His work has significantly influenced English language pedagogy in Japan through publications, curriculum development, and teacher training. He has co-authored major national textbooks and presented at international forums. He currently serves as President of the Japan CLIL Pedagogy Association. His research promotes sustainable, cognitively rich language learning for diverse learners.

Dr. Thananporn Sethjinda

Dr. Thananporn Sethjinda is a faculty member at the Graduate School of Business and Advanced Technology Management at Assumption University, specializing in Corporate Finance and Investment. Her teaching philosophy centers on interactive learning, where theoretical concepts are enriched through practical insights and real-world applications.

Since September 2024, she has served as the Director of the Office of International Affairs (OIA), playing a key role in advancing Assumption University’s mission of international collaboration and global engagement. In this capacity, she is dedicated to strengthening existing partnerships, broadening the scope of academic and institutional cooperation, and leading initiatives with measurable impact. She also actively pursues new opportunities to forge strategic and mutually beneficial alliances.

Dr. Sethjinda holds a Ph.D. in Organization Development from Assumption University, an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Exeter (UK), and a B.A. in Business English from Assumption University. She was appointed Assistant Professor in September 2023.

Dr. Keiko Hirao

Dr. Keiko Hirao is a professor at Shirayuri University and Director of its Life-Literacy Learning Center. She is Professor Emeritus at Sophia University and has been a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan and Harvard University. Her research centers on gender, work-family balance, intergenerational ties, and environmental sociology. She authored Invisible Hands and Invisible Heart and contributed to key academic works on gender and social policy. Her scholarship bridges cultural analysis with sustainable development. She actively promotes educational innovation through life-literacy and social inclusion.

Dr. Rah Kyung Kim

Catholic University of Korea, Korea

Biography

RahKyung Kim is a professor in the Department of Special Education at The Catholic University of Korea, where she also serves as the Dean of the Office of Research. She received her bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Ewha Womans University in South Korea and earned both her master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Special Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA.

Dr. Kim has published over 70 peer-reviewed research articles, including papers in SSCI-indexed international journals, and has led numerous national policy research projects supported by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Her research focuses on vocational education for students with disabilities, transition education and services, and medical support systems for students with severe and multiple disabilities.

Her major national projects include the development of the 2015 national special education music textbook (elementary level), the revision and accessibility enhancement of the Pictorial Vocational Interest Test (PVIT), the redevelopment of the Career Maturity Test for youth with disabilities, national surveys on the status of vocational education and employment of students with disabilities, the creation of school-based medical support guidelines, and studies on aging and employment support for workers with developmental disabilities. Dr. Kim currently serves as Vice President of the Korean Association on Intellectual Disabilities, and as a board member of both the Korean Association on Developmental Disabilities and the Korean Association for Emotional and Behavioral Disorders.

Mr. Suryo Adi Pramono

Suryo Adi Pramono is a senior lecturer and researcher at the Department of Sociology, Atma Jaya Yogyakarta University, where he has taught since 1993. His academic background spans international relations, sociology, and interfaith studies, with international training from Hartford Seminary and Free University Amsterdam. He has held leadership roles including Dean and Head of Human Rights and Democracy Studies. His research focuses on village communities, climate change, and organic peasantry. He is actively involved in interreligious dialogue, community development, and ecological advocacy. His published works include Seed Sovereignty, Peasant Sovereignty and studies on policy, agriculture, and social justice.

Maria Clara Dos Santos Quieroz

Maria Clara is a Brazilian student who has lived in Macau for 12 years. She is in her final year of an Education degree at the University of Saint Joseph, specializing in Kindergarten education. She is a member of the Neocatechumenal Way, an evangelization movement of the Catholic Church, and serves as a student ambassador for the chaplaincy at the University of Saint Joseph. She has a passion for traveling and exploring diverse cultures. Maria Clara also participates in the University of Saint Joseph’s dance team, enjoying dance as a non-professional hobby.

Adam Ramuta

Kyungchan Kim is a student of Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering at Sogang University. He actively participates in the University’s Swimming Club as a leader and is a member of the Altar Server Group in Sogang Ignatius Church. He aspires to be a Shipbuilding Engineer and loves traveling, swimming, food and puppies.
